Joe-Max was born in Lebanon but lived and studied in Switzerland, Cyprus, France, and the UK. He has 26+ years experience in healthcare technology, strategy development, digital transformation and management. He is a life long learner at the intersection of healthcare and technology. He is particularly inspired by the possibilities of implementing pragmatic solutions to transform the future of health for communities by identifying innovative ways to synchronise peoples, processes, and technology towards achieving meaningful health outcomes.
Joe-Max’s background includes biomedical engineering and health informatics, from Imperial College in London and the University of Wales, UK. Prior to joining the Institute, Joe-Max worked at the American University of Beirut Medical Center as the Director of Information Technology. He led hospital informations systems and electronic health records rollouts, working closely with healthcare leaders at multiple levels. He has served on the national electronic health records executive workgroup for the Ministry of Public Health and the national IT committee for private hospitals. He also enjoyed teaching healthcare information system, health informatics and health technology assessment at the university’s Faculty of Health Sciences.
He is a member of HIMSS and CHIME.
