Futures-oriented Philanthropy

At the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, we help funders apply foresight and futures thinking to their strategies, programs and communities, shifting from short-term problem-solving to long-term systems transformation. We work with foundations, donors, and philanthropy networks to build futures literacy, map emerging risks and opportunities, and design learning programs and future-fit strategies.

Futures-oriented philanthropy leverages one of the sector’s greatest strengths: the ability to invest where others cannot — beyond electoral cycles, market demands, and immediate crises. We enable philanthropy to take informed risks, support innovation, and strengthen the anticipatory capacities of communities and civil society.
