About the Project
The everyday life as a trading company is more unpredictable than ever. This demands new skills, high ambitions, and a readiness to adapt. Today, everything moves faster. Businesses are judged on more than just the bottom line, political dilemmas affect every sector, and failing to deliver risks losing customers and employees who are difficult to replace. A world of peace and free trade feels increasingly like nostalgia.
Uncertainty has become a basic condition for global business. At the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), this approach is called future readiness: being open, curious, and willing to explore more than one possible future, so the next crisis is not a roadblock - and the next opportunity is not overlooked.
Vision2030 is DI’s contribution to building competitive, future-ready Danish trading companies. Developed in collaboration with the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and a wide range of member companies, it provides a framework for preparing businesses for the transformative changes ahead through events, analyses, case studies, and practical tools.
The process began with a Future Brief mapping developments in trade and identifying megatrends expected to shape 2030. DI then hosted two trade summits, gathering insights from leading companies on the challenges, opportunities, and uncertainties identified. This work was distilled into the Vision2030 framework, which now guides DI Trade’s activities and supports companies in staying competitive in a rapidly changing world.
