Chiara has a background in Sociology of Technology Studies and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Environment and Development at the University of Copenhagen, with a focus on Livelihoods and Governance. Her interdisciplinary academic background has shaped a strong interest in the relationship between environmental change and the social and political systems in which it unfolds. In particular, she is curious about how sustainability and governance influence long-term societal transformation, and how futures thinking can help anticipate emerging challenges, uncover opportunities, and strengthen resilience in uncertain environments.
Her professional and academic experience spans climate policy, international development, governance research, and interdisciplinary environmental fieldwork. She has worked on climate mitigation and policy implementation in Germany and Spain, conducted research on political participation and gender equality in Kenya, and engaged in field-based research on the social and environmental dimensions of sustainable agricultural development in Malaysia.
Moving between policy, research, and different regional contexts has reinforced her interest in approaching complex challenges systemically and recognising that solutions are shaped by their political, institutional, and local contexts. These experiences have also strengthened her interest in how foresight can challenge established assumptions and help translate an understanding of complex global dynamics into strategic, context-sensitive approaches to the future.
In her free time, Chiara enjoys spending time in nature, particularly hiking, surfing, and sailing. She loves travelling and discovering the world through different perspectives, while she uses photography as a way of capturing these perspectives.
